If you are a web site owner and if you live in a perfect world then upon placing a web page on your website all the browsers will display the same page on the computer screen. Sadly we are not living in a perfect world and the same page might not be displayed the same on each browser and might not be displayed properly in some of them.
The reasons browsers do not behave the same are:
- Some browsers are very strict regarding the HTML text unlike others that are more flexible. For example, IE is very flexible unlike Chrome.
- Some browsers do not support various technologies such as AJAX, Flash,etc.
- Some browsers may have software bugs – Just do not tell anyone.
If 30% of the potential customers use a browser that does not display your website properly then you have a problem.
Conclusions:
- When evaluating a website management system such as Word-Press or some other proprietary management system be sure it supports all of the common browsers.
- After every major modification be sure to test the work on most of the browsers.
And how will I test my website on all the browsers? Download the browsers on to your PC and view your website using each one. You may be surprised….. I hope not.

Download Safari (Used mainly by Mac users).
